AIDS

Over 40 million people are currently living with HIV/AIDS worldwide, and it is estimated that this figure will increase to 90 million people by 2010.

Vaccines and strategies to prevent HIV from being transmitted to others, such as microbicides, may be our best hope to stop this epidemic.

The Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland AIDS Clinical Trials Unit and its subunit at MetroHealth Medical Center are inviting Cleveland to step up to this challenge.

We are inviting HIV-negative, healthy adults, ages 18-60 to sign up to be contacted about HIV vaccine and microbicides when they open in Cleveland. Signing up for the contact list does not imply that you agree to enroll in a clinical trial, just that we can send you information about the trials.

Your information will remain confidential and all personal identifying information will be used solely for the purpose of contacting you to inform you of HIV vaccine/ microbicide trials in Cleveland.

To find out more information or to sign up for the Contact List, call (216) 844-2247 or sign up on our website at www.clevelandactu.org/html/negative.html
